20170807_203439Marie Baléo is a French writer and editor born in 1990. She writes fiction, poetry, and essays. 

Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Yemassee, Tahoma Literary Review, Litro Magazine, Cleaver Magazine, Maudlin House, Pithead Chapel, Cease, Cows, Split Lip Magazine, Chiron Review, Gone Lawn, and elsewhere.

She is the Editor of the upcoming Travel Flash section of British travel anthology Panorama: The Journal of Intelligent Travel. She was previously a contributing writer for Panorama.

Marie was the co-founder and editor of Nótt Magazine, an online magazine publishing long-form commentary on news, international affairs, politics, technology, security, and culture.

In 2016, she was selected as a finalist for the Bitch Media Writing Fellowship in Technology.

In 2017, she was nominated for a Best of the Net award by Spilled Milk Magazine for her poem “River Gold”.

Marie grew up in Norway and Lebanon and received a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.A. from Sciences Po. She lives in Paris.
